A note from my mother

“So, Becky just came in. She fed (the goats) for us yesterday because I wasn’t sure if we’d be home in time. She said that she’d left the hatch to her SUV open while she was doing chores and when she got up the road a little bit she heard all this noise in the back seat and thought a cat had jumped. Instead, it was … a CHICKEN!”

Even the chickens need to get away from Ripley County once in a while! 🙂

Laughed when I read this one my grandmother had many chickens but two will never be forgotten the little no named banny rooster that my grandfather and I hated and plotted against many times. He thought it was his place to roost on our Harley’s in the shop and do his business on them lol. But the other was Ruby the oldest laying hen on the place. Rub y thought she was a dog she only would come when called like a dog and would chase you down the road when you lefted because she loved to take rides I have had many funny looks at the gas station when people seen that old red hen perched on the dash while I was pumping gas lol.
